Dream Board

I have so many wants and new ideas when it comes to my home.
Thought I'd create a page to store all of those ideas.

I want an open house plan badly.  Hoping Cory will give in eventually and have the wall removed between our dining room and family room:
Update: Cory gave in to having the wall removed!  But... one slight problem.  The contractor said we shouldn't remove it.  It is a major load bearing wall and we'd have to hire an engineer.  I was really bummed at first.  Like head down, walking around the house pouting, bummed.  I am starting to change gears though.  If I can't remove the wall... then I need to redecorate it.  I need to brighten it up.  Love the wall.  I need to add some white board and batten.

So, instead of "remove this wall" below:

Maybe we should add some of this lovely board and batten:

And instead of "other side of wall to be removed" below:

We should add an archway and wrap the board and batten around the walls about 1 foot on each side:

Remove island and make it a peninsula on left side where double ovens are currently:

Large kitchen window filling up wall above sink:

Get an oven like this to replace wall double ovens and cook top:

Granite counters with tile back splash.  Something like this below:

Doesn't that tile back splash look fabulous?  I am loving it.

Creamy tan colored walls in kitchen, dining room, and family room:
maybe Bleeker Beige from Benjamin Moore?

Mix in some white trim with board and batten walls in the mud/laundry room, kids playroom, and front entry:

Add a stone fireplace with mantel:

A built in nook in the basement:

Partially covered deck:

Here is one that is high on Cory's wish list, a paved turn around driveway.  Our gravel turn around is really messy.  Isn't this house below dreamy?

Another wish on Cory's list is an additional detached garage like this one below from one of our favorite stores, Menards:

I am loving the mix of white trim and wood stain in this house below.  I really need to pull this look in to our home.

  2. Two things on this Dream Board have come true! The wall is open and the fireplace has stone. What a busy year! Oh and we decided not to remove the island. Instead, we made it bigger and customed wrapped it adding detail and a butcher block counter.
